- Why do I love farmers and ranchers?
I am a first generation Texas Aggie, a second-generation artist, and a fourth-generation rancher. On one side of my high school ring I had the FFA seal and the other, drama masks and music notes. I was raised in a not so typical ranching background; my father is a South Texas Rancher and my mother is a high school drama and literature teacher with a farming background. I remember always being late to theatre practice because I was working with my sheep and cattle; thankfully my tardiness was excused because my theatre teacher was my mom. I love farmer and ranchers because it is what I was raised on, but more importantly because of what they do for the world. They commit and make the world a better place by feeding the mouths of people that don't even care about where there cheeseburger came from. They don't seek fame or recognition; just the satisfaction that another hard days work is done and they wake up before the sun to do it again, breaking there back with hopes that one day no one will go to bed hungry. Farmers and ranchers like my father, grandfathers and theirs alike are heroes and that is why I love them. |
