Hometown:
Wheeler, Texas—a small town in the Panhandle of Texas where the cattle outnumber the people!
- Hobbies:
When I’m not busy with schoolwork or meetings, you can usually find me out and about with my friends–that is, if there is not a show in town. I love watching plays and musicals, and, in fact, when I read, you will often find me flipping through a drama by Arthur Miller instead of some boring, old book. Apart from my theatrical side, I dabble in photography and graphic design as well as writing, and I love to travel and explore new places. I guess you could say my hobbies fall on the creative side of the spectrum.
- Favorite foods:
I LOVE Chinese food (as much as I love farmers), and there's not a day that goes by that I don't crave Crispy Honey Chicken and Crab Wontons from P. F. Chang's!
- Why do I love farmers and ranchers?
My love for farmers stems mainly from the fact that I grew up on a farm and that, for all of my life, agriculture has provided me with everything from the roof over my head to the bed in which I sleep. However, my devotion to this group of agriculturalists goes far beyond where I grew up. Farmers and ranchers are the workhorses behind our livelihood, yet people as a whole seem to lose respect for them each day. These producers do what they do to provide us with the food that we eat, the clothes that we wear, and much, much more; however, they seldom receive any thanks for their endeavors. Farmers work because they know that the world needs them, and it’s time for the people of the world to realize just how great their need is!
