  • Hometown:
    Central Point, Oregon
  • Favorite Foods:
Talk about a tough question. There is nothing better than a good rib steak, fresh Caesar salad, Seven Oaks sweet corn and beefsteak tomatoes (a local farm in my hometown), and juicy, local peaches.
  • Favorite Hobbies:
Ranch work, running, socializing, cooking, photography, and writing are what make me tick.
  • "Why I Love Farmers and Ranchers?"
The cattle business is a lifestyle, and now ranchers are known as a "dying breed." Growing up, I spent as much time as feasible on my family's ranch. I have always admired the work that is done so that someone in the world can have a good meal for dinner. I believe a cowboy gets more satisfaction from seeing a calf they raised develop into a vigorous 700-pound steer or a heifer that continues to produce choice calves. But, I believe a lack of education about where food comes from is the biggest issue agriculture faces. Many people are unaware of the obstacles ranchers and farmers face to put food on the table for America. This is obviously discouraging to ranchers and farmers, and that is what inspires me to get involved in educating the population about the agriculture industry.
