  • Why I love Farmers and Ranchers:
Growing up as the fifth generation on my family ranch is a way of life that has taught me the values of family, community and hard work. To continue the family legacy I know that education is the key to diversify and make informed decisions.  My future educational goal is to obtain a bachelors' degree in Animal Science.  After that I plan to continue my studies in Veterinary Science with emphasis on large animals.  FFA, agriculture classes, and leadership conferences have increased my awareness of agriculture careers that I can combine with my cattle herd.  Agriculture will become increasingly important to feed a growing population with less tilled land available.

I completed my high school educational goal to graduate as co-valedictorian of my class. I worked hard to keep my 4.0 GPA while taking AP and Honors courses and playing varsity football and basketball, serving in leadership positions, working on the ranch, serving my community, operating my Custom Rope Creations Business and competing in rodeo year round.   Three years ago my father broke his hip requiring three subsequent surgeries.  This increased my responsibilities on the ranch so I learned to manage my time to keep up with my homework.  I completed my FFA educational goals of earning the State Star award in Diversifiend Livestock Placement and completed my FFA Supervised Agriculture Education Projects in Beef Placement, Beef Production and Entrepreneurship and competed in the Job Interview, Ag Sales and Advanced Livestock Judging at the State Level.   I am currently working on my goal of earning  my FFA American Degree. Leadership, academics, career and community service are lifetime values I have learned through my family, agriculture, FFA and sports.  I hope to raise my own family in this supportive environment.
