  • Hometown:

  • Hobbies:
During my free time I watch, play, and dream Soccer, even when I don’t have free time I am thinking about soccer.  I enjoy playing Spanish classical guitar with “Alicia” (my guitar) and when I am not playing with an actual instrument, I enjoy playing Guitar hero on expert level.  My favorite gaming system is the Wii and I waited outside a Best Buy for that system for 11 hours.  I enjoy cooking and BBQ when weather permits as I love to create new and innovative foods.  When I have the opportunity I love to travel, I will drive my car, jump on a plane, or cruise on a ship in a heartbeat.   I am a huge fan of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas especially Indiana Jones.  I love to speak in public and I am not afraid of a microphone or a crowd.
  • Favorite Music:
I have a broad spectrum of music.  The majority of the time I will listen to Spanish rock, especially Maná, Enanitos Verdes, Soda Esterio, Heroes del Silencio and Caifanes.  I am also a big fan of electronica, especially MSTRKRFT (the remixes) and Kill the Noise (KTN remix).  When I was growing up I played in the orchestra and marching band so Classical music has always been a part of me as well as Mariachi music.   If it has a good beat I will listen to it.
  • Favorite Foods:
My favorite foods include anything that has good spice and can make me feel the heat, Mexican food, Thai Food and Italian food are my top three.
  • Career Goals:
Right now I am currently developing the Central and South American division for US Agriseeds Inc. Eventually I would like to teach agriculture at the high school level to promote agriculture and the benefits of this industry. I would like to receive my Ph.D. in Agricultural Education and teach at the university Level.
  • Why Do I Love Farmers?:
Growing up in the Imperial Valley I had the opportunity to see the impact agriculture had in the local economy and job market.  I grew up in a town that you could see busses heading out to the fields at 3 am and I realized that it was a way of life and thanks to them I was able to eat every day.   I love farmers because they work from sun up to sun down, in rainy days, in extreme heat to provide the world with nourishment.  If it was not for our farmers, we would go back to our hunting and gathering days and not grow as a civilization.  It is probably one of the oldest professions, yet misunderstood by consumers.  I love farmers, and I thank them every day for a career, an opportunity and a full plate!
